If so, we have an existing SPR (PLOI7KGH7L) tracking this issue. If you restart the Notes client and rerun setup, does it work correctly?
Details from the SPR
1. Register a brand new user with the ID in the vault and then run through client setup.
2. Go to another machine - this machine has a clean install and no existing data.
3. Launch the client again and click Next on the first setup dialog.
4. In the next dialog type the users name incorrectly (I made a typo) but type in a valid Domino server name and click Next. Notice as expected you get the dialog: "User or server name not found in the Domino Directory". Click OK.
5. Now correct the typo in the user name and click Next again. Notice that the ID is not pulled from the vault. The user is instead prompted for the file. I had to click Cancel because I didn't have the id file on disk. It was in the vault.
